One of the most common questions we get at Sandals & Sunsets is: do avarcas run true to size? The short answer is — they stretch.

Handmade in Spain from genuine leather, avarca sandals are crafted to traditional Menorcan sizing.  Im a size 39 in any other shoe including trainers but every time I buy avarcas I get a size 38 because in that first week the leather does stretch and mold to your feet.

How to Measure Your Foot for Avarcas

For the most accurate result, measure your feet at the end of the day when they're at their largest. Here's how:

  1. Place a piece of paper on a hard floor and stand on it.
  2. Trace around your foot with a pencil held vertically.
  3. Measure from the heel to the longest toe in centimetres.
  4. Use that measurement to cross-reference our size chart.
